The Lady is still being gussied up for vacation. Sometimes a gal just likes to feel pretty, like with her new classic hub caps.
Over the weekend, we travelled with her to a classic (Old Timer) car show in Fladungen, the historic and northern most resort town in Bavaria before the border with Thüringen. There were a lot of neat things to see, including a parade rally through the old city, a restoration exhibit, a classic camping display that gave us some ideas, and a flea market that I think was mostly a chance for people to show off their Fifties and Sixties décor rather than make many sales. It was interesting to see the variety of models and colours of Bullis, sort of like all the different R2 units that were supporting droids in Star Wars. There were a lot of yacht-like American cars too, like this Edsel that was like a lounge on wheels. Our vintage ride fits right in.
So vorbereitet, können wir den großen Urlaub an der französischen Atlantikküste kaum erwarten. Im übrigen fühlt sich Lady sehr hübsch mit ihren neuen, originalen Radkappen. Am Wochenende sind wir zu einem Old-Timers Treffen im
Fladungen, einem historischen Erholungsort, gewesen.
Da gab es so viel zu besichtigen und zu tun: ein Autokorso durch die Altstadt, eine Restaurations- Austellung, eine Oldtimer- Campingplatz, und ein "Schaufenster-Flohmarkt" mit 1950er Deko-Artikeln. Es war interessant, viele verschiedene Modelle von Bullis zu bestaunen. Außerdem gab es auch noch etliche amerikanische "
Strassen-Jachten". Unsere Oldtimer, classy Lady, braucht sich aber keinesfalls verstecken.
